West Coast National Park lies stretched along the coast, just an hour's drive from Cape Town. This pristine nature reserve offers an array of activities such as bird watching, game sighting and whale spotting. In terms of mammals you can spot eland, springbok, ostrich, kudu, gemsbok and the rare mountain zebra. In summer, hundreds of tortoises patrol the flowering land, while in winter you will be amazed by a myriad of colourful flowers.

Interesting facts about West Coast National Park

Ancient footprints, discovered in rock (formerly beach sand) in the park, are said to have belonged to a woman who lived some 117 000 years ago.

The Langebaan Lagoon will make you feel like you are in Greece, with its turquoise waters, asphalt-coloured cliffs, giant boulders, and soft, sandy beaches.

The West Coast National Park is home to over 250 bird species, reptiles, mammals, and seasonally visited by pods of whales.
