Information about Morondava

Morondova is the main city to go to visit the Baobab Avenue. Baobab Alley is a must-see photo in Madagascar. It's made up of 12 baobab trees up to 30 meters high. These trees are the remnants of an immense tropical forest, of which only 10% have survived. The best time to photograph this typical landscape is at sunset. As in Kirindy, you may also spot baobabs "in love". Don’t miss the opportunity to browse Morondava’s local market for a selection of locally made textiles and other sought-after Madagascan handicrafts.

Visit the Baobab Alley

Admire the unique forest of baobab trees on "Baobab Alley". This set of a dozen trees presents a landscape of a rare elegance. Most of these baobabs are more than 800 years old, a legacy of the dense forests that have flourished on the island a long time ago.
