African Fish Eagle

Information about Fish Eagle

The African Fish Eagle, often called the "voice of Africa" for its distinctive, melodious call, is a striking bird of prey found near large bodies of open water throughout sub-Saharan Africa. With its white head, chest, and tail contrasting sharply against its dark brown body and wings, the fish eagle is easily recognizable. This raptor primarily feeds on fish, swooping down from a perch to snatch its prey from the water with its powerful talons. The African Fish Eagle is not only a symbol of the continent's wild beauty but also serves as an important indicator of the health of aquatic ecosystems.
